Dear Awakened One!

My first business began in 1983. It started as a modeling and charm school for young girls…but it didn’t stay there for long.

I quickly realized something—I couldn’t just train models…I had the gift of developing talent and creating pathways.

So I evolved and asked a bigger question: “Where do they go after they’re trained and developed?”

So I built the stage. We began producing our own shows—three times a year—packed audiences. Real productions. Real exposure. But that wasn’t enough for me.

I said, “I want to see my models in magazines and catalogs.” I found a way. I discovered major runway events featured in publications such as Elle, Glamour, and GQ, as well as in Sears and JCPenney catalogs. And I got my models in the room and on the pages of those editorials.

Now, understand this—this was a time when Black models were not seen as the standard of beauty, and there were not many bookings available to them. But I was determined to change that narrative. Where there was typically one Black model per ten in a show…my models showed up—several per show.

And we didn’t stop there. I said, “Now let’s get them into TV and film.”

I opened my agency. We trained and represented actors/models. And before long…they were in commercials, films, and television.

Still… I wasn’t finished. I wanted global. Paris. London. New York. Hollywood. So I took my talent to national showcases. Top agencies from around the world took notice. Contracts were signed. Careers were launched.

But I continued to see a gap. There was no space created for talent of color—a space where industry leaders came expecting to discover us.

So I built it. A 3-day national showcase. Bringing Hollywood and the industry to us.

For over 10 years, it became a pipeline—launching models, actors, singers, and dancers across the country and internationally.

And here’s what I want you to understand…I’ve never built small. I’ve never ONLY thought local.

I build platforms that position people in the right rooms, with the right audience, at the right level. That’s what I do.
